EDS in the spotlight

EDS UK is proud to be funding a project with the Royal College of GPs to increase knowledge about EDS and related conditions in primary care. Each year, the Royal College selects clinical priorities and 12 month ‘spotlight projects’ and this year, an application by GP Dr Emma Reinhold and EDS UK to make EDS a spotlight project was accepted.

Dr Reinhold was later selected by the College as the Clinical Champion for the project. This means she will lead the development of an online EDS toolkit for GPs. She is working with members of the charity’s Medical Advisory Panel and trusted collaborators to pull together the toolkit’s content. She will also join the College’s various clinical networks and see where up to date information about EDS can be added to existing guidelines and those in development.

This is a great opportunity to transform the information about EDS that busy GPs have access to. Better understanding of EDS in primary care could make a huge difference to the day to day lives of many people struggling to manage their symptoms.
