We are delighted to have been awarded the Level 3 Disability Confident Leader Award. This is the highest level of the award and shows our commitment to support other organisations to become disability confident as well as having embedded practices within our working environment to support staff and volunteers and have good and effective recruitment practice for people with disabilities.
The Disability Leader Award is really important for us as an organisation supporting people with the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and hypermobility spectrum disorder because it shows our commitment to diverse and inclusive recruitment and retention both for our staff and volunteers.
We play a leading role in changing attitudes for the better and supporting other charities in their Disability Confident journey.
Nikki Casey, Senior Communities Manager at EDS UK
As a Disability Confident Leader we can secure high quality staff who are skilled, loyal and hardworking and improve employee morale and commitment by demonstrating that we treat all of our employees and volunteers fairly. It shows that we can offer great opportunities for all talented people and tap into a wider pool of talent to meet our charity needs and reflect the diversity of our members.
