Junior Bakie-In Winners

Junior Winners:

Congratulations to Olivia and Isabelle, who both go through to the final.

Olivia really enjoyed making her hedgehog rolls and used scissors to make the spikes on top but when they were finished they came out with no spikes! Spikes or not the judges still love them and their funny eyes.

Isabelle wanted to make a bread that looked as good as it tastes so we decided to make a garden focaccia. When choosing a theme for her garden she remembered a meditation story she listens to before bedtime about jellyfish under the sea and thought this would make a perfect idea for her focaccia. The judges thought her bread was amazing and loved the theme.

Adult Winners:

Congratulations to Faye and Lauren, who both go through to the final.

Faye made cinnamon rolls, and bread rolls. She used sweetener and dairy free butter and milk, as her partner is diabetic and she has gastroparesis. The judges said these rolls looked amazing on the inside and it was nice to see some dairy free bread as well.

Lauren has been baking since she was a little girl and it’s one of her favourite things to do. She sometimes finds it really hard to stand up and bake, but always prioritises it because, in her words; ‘in a life full of pain and frustrations, to do things that make us happy’.

My dream is that no matter what happens with my health I’ll always be able to bake and experience joy through seeing people try my baked goods. All of the judges wanted to go out immediately and buy bread for breakfast after seeing this loaf! Mouth watering…
