EDS UK Bake-In 22 has started and we are delighted to announce the cake challenge winners. Thank you all for taking part and good luck in the upcoming challenges. Full details of the various challenge weeks and how to take part can be found here.
Junior Winners:
Congratulations to Olivia and Isabelle, who both go through to the final.
Olivia used butter, sugar, eggs, flour and vanilla to make these wonderful cupcakes, complete with edible eyes. The judges loved these cookie monster cakes!
Isabelle took inspiration from her favourite lego sets to make a selection of cakes all that have tastes of the funfair! They included apple cupcakse with caramel and fudge toppings, chocolate cupcakes with popped ‘not corn’ (as her brother is allergic to corn), vanilla cupcakes with a candy floss topping and ‘funfetti’ doughnuts with chocolate toppings! The judges where amazed by the amount of work that went into the baking and the funfair scene – it was a feast for their eyes!
Adult Winners:
Congratulations to Elizabeth and Ruth, who both go through to the final.
Ruth made a chocolate and vanilla marble cake with chocolate and vanilla butter cream icing, milk and white chocolate buttons and icing zebras. The judges absolutely loved the marbling in this cake and they all wanted a slice!
Elizabeth made her cake represent the zebra colour and even had EDS iced on the top! She got the recipe from Becky Excell gluten free cookbook it was very tasty and moist even 3 days later. The judges loved the chocolate layers inside the cake and said it looked so delicious.
