First support group meeting for d/Deaf hard of hearing

We are really proud to announce our first support group meeting, inclusive for d/Deaf hard of hearing. At 1pm on 3rd March our wonderful Newcastle Area Coordinator will be opening up the online Newcastle meeting to anybody from across the UK to join if they have a hearing impairment and need a BSL interpreter to access support groups meetings . Our BSL interpreter Katy will be coming along and Jasper is very happy to welcome anyone, from anywhere, who would benefit. This meeting remains open to all Newcastle members as usual.

A little about Jasper

I was diagnosed back in 2016 with hypermobile EDS but had been under investigation for EDS ten years prior to that, as at the time there was very little awareness of the condition. I also have PoTS, ME/CFS, IBS, and I’m profoundly Deaf. I am a full-time wheelchair user (which I customised to be purple with rainbow fairy lights), and use a mixture of BSL and speech/lipreading.

Full details of the meeting can be found here.
