Jeannie Di Bon is a movement therapist specialising in hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and chronic pain. With over a decade of experience in supporting clients with their pain management and guidance on the path to health and wellbeing, Jeannie regularly educates and trains other therapists and shares information on supporting people with EDS and HSD.
Jeannie was a chronic pain sufferer, with a hypermobile, bendy and unstable body. She experienced three episodes of pneumonia that left her with a lifelong lung condition called bronchiectasis. Her extensive medical history of seemingly unrelated issues finally led to a diagnosis of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS). These experiences changed her life, but she decided to devise her own approach to take back control of her own health and is now passionate about sharing this with others.
I cried when I heard the news that I was receiving this award from EDS UK – it means the world to me. I am honoured that I can work in many different ways with people in the hypermobile community to help them through movement therapy – whether that is online Zoom sessions, my YouTube channel, online courses or in person. To be recognised for this work, particularly during the difficult pandemic times, is so wonderful and I am very grateful. I can’t wait to put the award up in my studio. Thank you again to EDS UK – I really am so grateful to receive this
Jeannie Di Bon
She now provides specialist support to those living with chronic pain, has extensive experience working with specific needs and is a firm believer that movement heals.
Through the lockdown periods, Jeannie delivered many Pilates sessions via Zoom for our members and allowed us to record these so that members would be able to use them time and time again, making them accessible to more people.
I’m so pleased to be able to present this award to Jeannie. I know from personal experience what a skilled practitioner she is and how well she understands the challenges those of us with EDS face in stabilising our ligaments and building up strength. She gave me exercises that got muscles in my back working that I hadn’t been able to activate in years. It’s wonderful that she is now trying to spread this expertise using social media, her apps and now a training programme for other Pilates instructors
Anne Lavery, EDS UK Area Coordinator for 8 years
We are thrilled that Jeannie has accepted one of our Community Champion Awards as she has made supporting people with hEDS and HSD her lifetime mission. We were especially excited that the award was presented to her by Anne Lavery, our Central and North London volunteer of eight years, and someone who has benefitted from Jeannie’s expertise and support over the years.
Congratulations Jeannie!
