Meet our new Medical Advisory Panel members

We are very pleased to welcome two new members to our Medical Advisory Panel. Lisa Jamieson, pharmacist and nutritionist and Dr Kate Barnes, GP, Integrated Health Practitioner and educator, bring welcome additional knowledge, skills and experience to the panel which advises EDS UK on the provision of best-practice clinical treatments for people with EDS in the UK, the latest relevant research developments and the charity’s research priorities.

Lisa Jamieson has been a regular contributor to our Fragile Links magazine in recent years and also spoke at our patient conference in September 2017. She was a key contributor to the recently launched EDS toolkit for GPs and has been heavily involved in our research funding campaign 12to24. Lisa works as a consultant pharmacist and also as a Research Fellow at The Wingate Institute of Neurogastroenterology, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry where she works with Professor Qasim Aziz.

Kate Barnes works as an Integrated Health Practitioner at The Healthy Balance Clinic, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. She has a special interest in hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She is also a GP appraiser and clinical tutor at Oxford University, teaching and supervising GP registrars.

We look forward to working with Lisa and Kate and thank them for volunteering their time to support the charity in this important role.
